Hey Everyone- Spring is coming, I think, and I want to encourage everyone to give bicycle commuting a try if you haven’t already. Going by bike is pretty much the best thing that you can do to improve your life. Yes, school will be stressful and you may be worried about having enough time but I assure you the twenty – thirty minutes of head-clearing bicycle-riding you will do everyday will help you either wake up or wind down. It is a great way to detach yourself from whatever is stressing you out. And usually biking is faster. Capitol Hill to the UD on a bus would be at least a 40 minute trip if you factor in walking to the bus stop and waiting for a bus. That trip on a bike is no more than twenty minutes. Same thing for Ballard. Same thing for everywhere. And it is soooooo much fun. And you could wear one of those little caps! If you want to get into it but are apprehensive about any aspect of urban bicycling don’t hesitate to ask. And don’t worry about the hills, its not as bad a you think.

I’ll see you out there, and keep the rubber side down. And watch out for Chris Campbell, if you are on a bike then he does not like you. I have heard him say that sometimes he feels like going “bowling,” as in bowling cyclists with his car. Car. What’s the deal with those anyway? Is there any good excuse?
I would like to add, that in many if not all cases biking is faster than riding the bus! Get out there and ride!
hey i just found that REI has a series of free bike maintenance classes that start very soon:
